Kawakawa Steaks

The kawakawa fish (Euthynnus affinis), also known as mackerel tuna, is a warm-water Indo-West Pacific species that lives in open waters and near the shore, often around oceanic islands. It's a medium-sized, robust fish with a streamlined, elongated body, and a deeply forked tail. Distinctive features include dark blue or blackish coloration on its back with a striped pattern, and several dark spots between the pelvic and pectoral fins.
